Hurricane Sandy

Dear Friends:

I am writing because you have corresponded with me in the past, and I want to provide you with a critical update on Federal Government and other disaster assistance that is available for New Jersey residents harmed by Hurricane Sandy. If you yourself have not suffered damage, please forward this information to any family or friends who may need assistance.

In the immediate aftermath of the storm, individuals who are trapped or need emergency assistance should call 9-1-1. For other information, including road closures, transit information, and shelter locations, the best number to call is 2-1-1. Power companies are working to restore electricity, but it will be a long process before everyone has their power back. Notify your power company immediately of any outages and keep in touch until your power is restored.

President Obama acted quickly to issue Major Disaster Declarations for many New Jersey counties suffering damage from Hurricane Sandy, and I have requested that all counties in our state receive the designation. This makes New Jersey residents eligible for a number of Federal disaster relief programs that offer grants and loans to individuals and loans to businesses.

The Federal Government has a website that allows people to apply for assistance online: http://www.disasterassistance.gov .

This website consolidates the application process across several Federal agencies, including FEMA and the Small Business Administration. The website also reduces the number of forms you will ultimately have to fill out, shortens the time it takes to apply, and allows you to check the progress of your applications online.

If you want to apply by phone rather than the Internet, you can call 1-800-621-FEMA (1-800-621-3362).

While the damage suffered across New Jersey is devastating, I know our state can rebound. Federal aid will play a crucial role in our recovery, so please take advantage of the resources available. Please don’t hesitate to contact me anytime regarding Hurricane Sandy or other issues.

Sincerely,

Senator Frank R. Lautenberg

Relief Fund

Prince Hall Relief Fund!

Welcome to our website. Our Prince Hall Family Relief Fund was established in 2005 to assist victims that suffered catastrophes from hurricanes, floods, and fires that accrued to them as well as their family members. On behalf of the Family Relief fund, we would like to thank everyone who gave their time and financial support.

Without you this program would not have been as successful as it has been. We are an ongoing program. This fund is what the Masonic Family is all about. We must continue to aid, support and lend a helping hand to our brothers and sisters in distress.
